Activity 1: Introduction

The principal element of dance is the motion of the dancer's body. It can be coordinated or improvisational, slower or faster, but always purposeful. Upon completion of this module, you will be able to recognize what dance is (how it relates to space and time), the traditions and functions of dance, and how the dancer uses the body to create expression.
