Module 4 Competence Builder: Grammar Challenge
After completing the grammar diagnostics in MyCompLab, determine your major problem areas and write them down. Go to the Module 4, Activity 4 link called “The 20 most Common Sentence Errors among U.S. College Students.” Look over the top 20 and see if any of your problem areas are in the list.
Pick your top problem area and write a sentence that contains the error. Go to the LCE1 Learning Community page and post your “grammar challenge” in the thread called “CURRENT Module 4 Competence Builder: Grammar Challenge." Older challenges are archived threads marked by date, so look for the CURRENT one.
Invite students to answer your grammar challenge. In exchange, answer the grammar challenges of other students.
The student who provides the most correct grammar challenge answers each week will have his/her name listed in a special “Congratulations” announcement on the LCE1 home page. You may also gain points for identifying the TYPE of error, such as "comma splice," etc.
