Activity 2: Describing Your Audience
The topic you selected interests you, so perhaps you are a member of a group you could target as your audience. For instance, if you write about the impact of preventive medicine on reducing the number of patients admitted to hospitals, perhaps you chose this topic because you are studying to become a health services administrator. Therefore, your audience might be health science administration students. If you are writing for the general public, who in particular would take the time to read about your topic? Newspapers are aimed at the general reader, but not all general readers read every article in a newspaper. If your topic appeared in a newspaper, who would likely read it?
