Module 5 - Beginning Your List of Relevant Information

Activity 1 : : Activity 2 : : Activity 3 : : Activity 4

Activity 1: Introduction

Task 3 involves reading eight articles written on your topic and accessed through Opposing Viewpoints, which is available through WGU’s elibrary on the student portal.  Detailed directions for accessing Opposing Viewpoints are given in a blog post in the CLRPS Community.  Once you have reached the home page for Opposing Viewpoints, investigate the search options for retrieving articles on your topic.  Skim all of the articles you retrieve before selecting eight to read carefully for Task 3.  Remember you are looking for articles that represent a range of perspectives on your topic.  You should also click on the Toolbox option  in Opposing Viewpoints to read information on determining the validity of your sources.
