Activity 4: TaskStream
Keep your reader in mind as you draft your essay. That is, make sure each sentence naturally follows the previous one so your reader can easily follow your thinking. Also, move from general idea to specific example whenever possible to make sure the reader will understand your thinking. Don’t forget that adding headings and subheadings may help the reader find the content he or she is looking for. Although your writing should be of a quality appropriate for college level work, think of this as a way to demonstrate your critical thinking rather than as just another research paper.
Be sure to read and reread the grading rubric as you work through and modify your draft. If you know someone who might be a helpful responder, ask him or her to read your draft and the rubric. Ask them what is effective and what needs improvement. Keep in mind you do not need to follow all of the advice given. Simply thank them for the comments, and then decide what you want to do to finish your writing. When you are finished, go to TaskStream and submit your writing.
