Activity 2:  Resources

It is necessary to review some topics and then do the practice problems to get an understanding of the material.  In this section you will be learning concepts that will help you with your problem solving in the business world.

All students should go to the community and participate in the exercises, and question of the week.

Review: 

  • Arithmetic & Algebra Again Chapters 1-9
  • Schaum’s Outline of Theory & Problems of College Mathematics 12, 39 & 40
  • Thinkwell Intermediate Algebra
    • Properties of Real Numbers (note these are found on the inside front cover of the book), page 19
    • Absolute Value (note these are found on the inside front cover of the book), page 24-26
    • Operations on Real Numbers, page 28-31
    • Equations in One Variable, page 41-45
    • Understanding Exponents, page 83-86

Review: 

  • Schaum’s Outline of Theory & Problems of Elementary Algebra Chapters 6 & 7
  • Practice:  Chapter 7 Supplemental Problems 7.6, 7.8, 7.9 & 7.10

Supplemental Resources:

If you encountered difficulty with any of the concepts or practice problems, you should go to the community.  There you will be able to contact the Quantitative Literacy Math (QL Math) Academic Mentor through the "Contact a Mentor" button, or e-mail.
