Activity 2: Take the Pre-assessment

Request the referral for the pre-assessment (PAQL) through your AAP.  The PAQL is designed to be taken in your home or office.  It consists of 49 questions which are representative of the questions on the QLO1 Objective Exam.  Treat it as an actual assessment – do not use textbooks or other resources.  Calculators are permitted.  Once you have taken the PAQL, your mentor will contact you with the results and directions on where to proceed from there.  You can also refer to the checklist.

If you scored 65% or higher on the PAQL, you are considered WGU math competent and ready to take the QLO1 Objective Exam.

The guidelines for the PAQL should be discussed with your mentor. In some cases, a student with a strong mathematical background may choose to accelerate his or her timeline.
