Access Prior Knowledge

You will now begin a more in-depth study of digestion and metabolism. If you have not already done so, add what you know about food digestion and nutrient metabolism to your concept map. We will cover the basics of digestion and metabolism here and then will cover each of the macronutrients in more detail in the following modules.

  • Where is food digested?
  • What do foods break down to?
  • What is the end product of metabolism?
