Use the knowledge you have gained from the readings and websites, and answer the review questions in your notebook.

  • How are relative dating and absolute dating used to construct the geologic timeline?
  • Describe human activities that accelerate or decelerate the process of erosion.
  • List and describe the evidence for continental drift, and explain why this theory was not accepted by geologists.
  • Draw and label the structure of the earth; explain the composition of the plates and how they move.
  • Explain the processes that act on a rock as it passes through the rock cycle.
