Activity 3: Learning Resources

There are two required Learning Resources (LRs). You will enroll in these LRs through your AAP.
  1. Conceptual Integrated Science provides access to two e-texts and additional learning resources. You will enroll in this resource through your AAP. Once you have enrolled, you will receive an email from Learning Resources with specific instructions on how to access the resource.  The textbooks included are listed below:
    • Hewitt, P.G., Lyons, S., Suchocki, J. & Yeh, J. (2007) Conceptual Integrated Science. 1st ed. San Francisco: Addison-Wesley. ISBN 0805390383
    • Campbell, N.A., Reece, J.B. (2005) Biology. 7th ed. San Francisco: Benjamin Cummings. ISBN 0805371710
  2. Thinkwell's Science with George Wolfe, Dean Harman, Gordon Yee, and Steve Pollock is the first next-generation Science text for online learners. It communicates the fundamentals of Science to students using engaging, interactive media. You will enroll in this resource through your AAP. Once you have enrolled, you will receive a confirmation email from Thinkwell with your username and password (usually within 24 hours). You can access the material by going to www.thinkwell.com and entering your log in information.  If you have dial-up Internet access, you can order the Thinkwell CDs for a nominal cost.
Note: Please retain all emails and materials you receive regarding your learning resources. The information contained in these materials is very helpful. 
 

3.  WGU Library E-reserves provides additional chapters to read in Physical Science Concepts.  Here are the instructions for accessing E-reserves:

    • To access the E-reserves from the portal
      • Go to the Resources tab.
      • Click on Library. (Make note of the password for E-reserves.)
      • Click "Enter the Library".
      • Click on "E-Reserves".
      • Select "Liberal Arts" Course of Study.
      • Click on "LibArt_NaturalSciences".
      • Enter password and click "View".
