Activity 3: Finding Your Research for Your Presentation
During your topic selection process you already did some research about your topic. You will now finish the task of searching for information that will answer your research question. Your online library, accessed through the WGU Student Portal, is probably the best place to begin searching for information to answer your research question. Because of the wide range of materials available through the WGU elibrary, you may decide to contact WGU’s online librarian, who can help you locate sources quickly. This way, you can get the most out of the time you devote to research. There is also a Library chat in the LUT1 community about once a month if you need more assistance. Chat logs are in the DOCUMENTS section community, as well, if you miss the chat.
Once you have decided upon several resources that are factual, credible, and relevant to your topic, you are ready to go on to the next activity. Note: the final task for LUT1 requires that the student appropriately supports 2–3 main points of their presentation with research and evidence in APA format, so it is better to have more references to start with and edit them down to the ones you will use for your main points later on.
