Activity 3: Learning Resources

In addition to this Course of Study the following resources are available to help you develop competency in this area of study:

More information on these resources is found under the Learning Resources tab of the Academic Action Plan in the my.wgu.edu portal.

Students Starting After October 1, 2007 enroll in A Problem Solving Approach, which includes the e-text and MyMathLab.  You will enroll in this resource through your AAP. Once you have enrolled, you will receive an email from Learning Resources with specific instructions on how to access the resource.  The textbook included is listed below:

  • Billstein, R., Libeskind, S., & Lott J. W. (2007). A Problem Solving Approach to Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers. (9th ed.). Boston: Addison Wesley. ISBN 0-321-33179-6

All students should participate in the regular Community activities that include questions, and exercises of the week.  Also, chats are held regularly three times a week, and students are encouraged to attend as well.

Also, if after using these Learning Resources you need further assistance please feel free to post a question in the learning community or contact the course mentors directly. The subject course mentors for this area are Aaron McDonald, Christine Gee, Jonathan Martin, and Mark Johnston (liberal_arts_math@wgu.edu).
