Activity 5: Guiding Questions and Competence Builder
Answer the following questions, using the information gained through the readings. Enter answers and thoughts on the topics in your notebook.
- Explain how emotional health may change throughout a person’s life.
- Create a list of events that produce stress. List the physical signs these events produce, and the effects it has on different body systems. Also consider the impact that stress has on those around you.
- Devise a strategy to help in dealing with a stressful situation.
- Using Chapter 6, identify the characteristics of an emotionally healthy individual that you possess. Think of ways to improve on the characteristics that you do not possess.
- Compare and contrast the causes, signs, and symptoms of various eating disorders.
- What are some ways to recognize depression?
- Describe the various stages of grief and explain how to help someone who is grieving (Health: The Basics p. 427).
