Activity 3: Learning Resources

There are four required learning resources. You will enroll in the LRs through your AAP.

  1. America Past and Present provides access to an e-text version of the following text and additional learning resources. You will enroll in this resource through your AAP. Once you have enrolled, you will receive an email from Learning Resources with specific instructions on how to access the resource.
    • Divine, R., Breen, T.H., Frederickson, G., Williams, R.H., Gross, A., Brands, H.W., Roberts, R. (2007). America Past and Present (Brief 7th ed.). ISBN-10: 0321421809, ISBN-13: 9780321421807
  2. MyPoliSciLab with The Struggle for Democracy provides access to an e-text version of the following text and additional learning resources. You will enroll in this resource through your AAP. Once you have enrolled, you will receive an email from Learning Resources with specific instructions on how to access the resource.
    • Greenberg, E., & Page, B.  (2007). The Struggle for Democracy (8th ed.). ISBN-10: 0321420837, ISBN-13: 9780321420831
  3. Geography: People, Places, and Environment provides access to an e-text version of the following text and additional learning resources. You will enroll in this resource through your AAP. Once you have enrolled, you will receive an email from Learning Resources with specific instructions on how to access the resource.
    • Bergman, E., & Renwick, W.  (2008). Introduction to Geography: People, Places, and Environment (4th ed.). ISBN-10: 0132238993, ISBN-13: 9780132238991
  4. New Thinkwell Social Science with Matthew Dickinson, Mark Rom, Gerald Rosenberg, and Steven Tomlinson (2006, Austin, TX) is the first next-generation Social Science text for online learners. It communicates the fundamentals of Social Science to students using engaging, interactive media. You will enroll in this resource through your AAP. Once you have enrolled you will receive a confirmation email from Learning Resources.

 

There is one additional learning resource available through the WGU Library's e-reserves:

Garraty, J.A., & Carnes, M.C. A Short History of the American Nation (8th ed.).

You can access E-reserves from the student portal:
  • Go to the Resources tab.
  • Click on Library. (Make note of the password for Docutek E-reserves).
  • Click "Enter the Library."
  • Click on "E-Reserves."
  • Select "Liberal Arts" from the pull-down menu.
  • Click on the link for "Social Science."
