Visit the U.S. History, Government and Geography Learning Community and click on the Module 16 discussion thread to participate in a Competence Builder that examines amendments to the Constitution.

  • Competence Builder: Examining the proces of Constitutional amendments in greater detail.  How is the Constitution amended?  For what reasons?  Is everything that becomes an amendment a reflection on the rights of the country?  Select one of the twenty-seven amendments to the Constitution.  Post below the amendment you chose and explain it in your own words.  Does it represent a fundamental right?  How did the amendment come about?  How has it been read by legislators, presidents, or the Supreme Court?
