Activity 5: Additional Study Aids

These study aids are available through the MyPoliSciLab with Struggle for Democracy LR. Log on, click on the “Government e-book” tab, and then select Chapter 9. You can find quizzes, roundtable discussions, simulations, timelines, flashcards and a study guide. You can also click on the “Web Explorations” link for a collection of useful websites. Do the same for Chapter 10, and test your knowledge of key topics and concepts.

Visit the U.S. History, Government and Geography Learning Community and click on the Module 13 discussion thread to participate in a Competence Builder and share your experiences with voting.

  • Competence Builder: Considering voting in the United States, and the individual participation in the democratic process.  Is voting important?  Do you remember the first time you voted?  Was it a local election?  A national one?  Have you ever voted in a primary or a caucus?  Voted absentee?  Do you follow political campaigns?  Even if you don't follow politics religiously, do you vote regularly?  Post below your voting experiences and thoughts about voting in the U.S.
