Module 9 Competence Builder: Writing to Argue
  • Complete the "Writing to Argue" exercises detailed in Module 9 of the GLT.
  • Post in the LCO1 community thread called "Module 9 Competence Builder: Writing to Argue" and describe a recent situation in which you have done some form of "Writing to Argue" (remember that "writing to argue" does not have to mean that you were "argumentative" in tone). For example, have you recently sent an email or letter to a company? Have you written a letter to your child's school asking for a change of some sort? Have you ever written a letter to the editor of a newspaper or magazine?
  • How would the knowledge you gained in this module change your style of argumentation? Note how your audience type would determine your writing strategy, as well.
