Activity 6: Competence Builder

Module 7 Competence Builder: Types of Writing

  • After Completing the “Writing to Discuss” and “Writing to Describe” exercises in MyWritingLab, go to the LCO1 Learning Community thread called “Module 7 Competence Builder: Types of Writing.”
  • Choose either the “Writing to Discuss” or “Writing to Describe” strategy and identify an example of that type of writing that you have done in the recent past—even if it was a personal note or journal entry.
  • Describe what changes you might make to that piece of writing now that you have learned new writing strategies.
