Activity 3: Assessment

The Language and Communication Objective Assessment (LCO1) is a scheduled proctored objective exam at a secure testing center. You will have 2.5 hours to complete 50 questions covering reading comprehension, critical reading, writing/editing, and presentation skills.

When you go to the proctored site, do not bring any texts or study materials with you, but do bring some identification.  Be sure you are rested, and wear comfortable clothes. You will take the assessment online.  Read each question carefully to make sure you understand what you are being asked to do.  Reread the question if needed. Because this is a timed test (2.5 hours for 50 questions), it is important that you pace yourself so you have time to answer all 50 questions.  The questions are presented in topic specific subsets of about 4 or 5 questions.  Once you have answered the questions in a subset, you must submit your responses.  After you have submitted your responses to the questions in a particular subset, you will not be able to go back and review your responses on this portion of the assessment.  The passing score on the entire assessment is 56% or better.
