Chadron Ethics Course
This course provides the student with a study of the major
philosophical theories that attempt to describe the nature of morality
and/or to prescribe the means by which acts may be judged moral or
immoral. Upon successful completion of this course, the student
will:
- Understand the classic works in moral philosophy by Aristotle, Kant, and John Stuart Mill, as well as works in applied moral reasoning by contemporary writers.
- Understand what challenges to ethical reasoning make the enterprise difficult.
- Be able to reason in an informed way the three timely and provocative applications of moral theory:

- Capital punishment
- Homosexuality
- Abortion
