Week 13 and 14 - Writing the Analytical Essay

TaskStream 

  • Read the directions and rubric for CST1 Task Six in TaskStream.
  • Write CST1 Task Six (10-15 page analytical essay).
  • Proofread your essay for typos, word usage problems, sentence structure, grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, and succinctness.
  • Check your essay against the rubrics to make sure you've met all requirements.
  • Submit your essay for grading.
  • Before submitting the task, check to see if you have completed the following: (Information taken from the “meets standards” column of the rubric. For more detail, please check the rubric found at the bottom of each task in TaskStream.)

      

1)      Have you provided an adequate response?

2)      Is your work free of major mechanical errors?

3)      Have you provided a reasonable overview of the problem?

4)      Have you provided a logical evaluation of value-related viewpoints relevant to the problem?

5)      Have you provided a reasonable description of the reasoning and/or evidence used to address the problem?

6)      Have you provided a plausible analysis of the fallacies in the sources?

7)      Have you provided a logical explanation of the strengths of the sources?

8)      Have you provided a logical explanation of the weaknesses of the sources?

9)      Have you provided a plausible explanation of the underlying assumptions in the reasoning of the sources?

10)   Have you developed a reasonable solution to the problem?

11)   Have you provided a logical explanation of the evidence and/or reasoning that supports the solution?

12)   Have you provided a logical explanation of the reasoning and/or evidence of the solution, using the standards of thinking?

13)   Have you provided a logical explanation of alternative solutions to the problem?

14)   Have you provided in-text citations and references in APA style?
