Activity 5: Practice, Reflect, and Review

Practice

  • Complete the Chapter 1, 3, 5, 9 quizzes
  • Go back to the end of the book and check your answers
  • If there are concepts you did not answer correctly, review them in the text.
  • Look up additional information on the web

Reflect

  • Now go back to your concept map and see if you can add more information about microorganisms.  Keep this map handy so that you can add more information and connections as you work through the rest of this course of study.
  • Add or modify your concept map to include what you now know about glucose metabolism, energy, osmosis, and motility in bacteria.
  • Why do bacteria move?
  • What questions do you still have?

Collaborate

  • Access the Microbiology community through the WGU portal. The Community has a thread for this section, "Microorganisms". You can use the tag box to locate this thread. Reply to this thread with what you have learned. Also, answer questions and challenge each other’s ideas by responding to other students.
