Glucose Metabolism

  • Microbiology Lab Manual: Experiment #6 - Methyl Red Voges-Proskauer Test (TaskStream Task 211.2.1-01, 03, 2.9-19)
  • Go to the online Microbiology lab Methyl Red Voges-Proskauer Test (Experiment #6).
  • This lab will help you to become familiar with the MR-VP biochemicals and variations on how different organisms metabolize glucose.
  • Complete all parts of the lab. Write the lab report.

Chemical Metabolism

  • Microbiology Lab Manual: Experiment #8 – Carbohydrate Fermentation Testing (TaskStream Task 211.2.1-06, 2.9-18)
  • Go to the online Microbiology lab Carbohydrate Fermentation Testing (Experiment #8).
  • This lab investigates how biochemical tests are used and employ a chemical indicator.
  • Complete all parts of the lab. Write the lab report.

Osmosis

  • Microbiology Lab Manual: Experiment #9 – Osmosis (TaskStream Task 211.2.1-07, 08)
  • Go to the online Microbiology lab Osmosis.
  • This lab investigates principles of osmosis and the effects osmotic changes have on microbes.

Bacterial Motility

  • Microbiology Lab Manual: Experiment #7 – Motility Testing  (TaskStream Task 211.1.1-04, 05)
  • Go to the online Microbiology lab Motility Testing (Experiment #7).
  • This lab investigates flagellar structure and arrangement in microbes and determining motility in microbes.
