Microbiology Lab Manual: Experiment #3 – Aseptic Technique and Culturing Microbes
(TaskStream task 211.2.1-02, 2.8-01, 2.9-12-14)

  • Go to the microbiology labs online and access Lab Aseptic Technique and Culturing Microbes. In this lab you will learn how to use aseptic technique and basics about microbial growth, basic forms of culture media and methods to control growth.
  •  Complete all parts of the lab. Write the lab report.

 

Microbiology Lab Manual: Experiment #4 – Isolation of Individual Colonies
(TaskStream task 211.2.9-15, 16, 20)
 

  • Review the introductory material online on Preparation of Media.
  • Then carry out the Lab Isolation of Individual Colonies.  In this lab you will become familiar with subtypes of culture media and the uses of each.  You will also use streak and pour techniques.
  • Complete all parts of the lab. Write the lab report.
