Activity 4: Guiding Questions and Competence Builder

Answer the following questions using information gained through the readings and CourseCompass activities.  Enter answers and thoughts on the topics in your notebook.

  • Define homeostasis and explain how homeostasis is achieved.
  • Explain how the lymphatic system regulates other body systems.
  • Cite specific examples of interactions between the nervous system and endocrine in body regulation.
  • Describe the function of the blood-brain barrier.
  • Contrast the functions of the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems on the body.
  • How do kidneys aid in regulation?
